HELP FOR HAITI'S DISABLED
Dear Friends,
Patagonia Bar and
Grill in Richboro and
Café con Leche
in Newtown are teaming up with
Physicians for Peace
and Hunger to supplement their work in Haiti right
now, providing care for the injured and disabled after
their devastating earthquake.
We’ll be collecting
prosthetics, crutches, canes, walkers, and manual
wheelchairs at both of our restaurant locations until
Sunday, February 14th during business hours.
Let us celebrate Valentine’s Day with
the Gift of Love, by giving someone the ability to move.
Some of these items are laying in our garages and
basements….in a month; they could be helping a child, a
mother, an amputee. What a beautiful teaching moment for
our children to help someone to walk.
Soon after February 14,
Patagonia and
Café con Leche
will deliver these items to
Physicians for Peace
in Norfolk, VA.
Shortly after, the organization will be delivering
them to Haiti, through their own
established channels.
Physicians for Peace
is preparing for the upcoming reconstruction phase;
gearing up to help the countless tens of thousands who are
disabled as the result of trauma and amputations.
Physicians for Peace
has been working in Haiti since 2005 as part of its
“Walking Free” program.
The number of injured and disabled in Haiti has
risen dramatically (and will continue to rise) because of
the earthquake. At the same time, many of the previously
established resources in Haiti to treat the disabled have
been destroyed.
